Join us #FeedtheFightBoston against COVID-19!
Feed the Fight Boston has a dual mission: to nourish and cheer overworked healthcare workers on the COVID-19 frontlines and to help secure the jobs of insecure and often vulnerable restaurant workers and small business entrepreneurs by purchasing food from local, independently-owned restaurants during this challenging time.

FTFB's core value is supporting the entire community in need, not just a few restaurants or the most visible healthcare providers.  We are the most inclusive organization of its type - with the most participation by a diverse and growing group of locally-owned restaurants and with reach beyond big hospitals (of whom we are huge fans).
We were among the first to reach into community-based clinics and nursing homes, starting deliveries into Chelsea as soon as the need arose .  Please support our efforts, which are shaped daily to serve today's needs in our communities.

"Just knowing that meal came from the community energized us and lifted our spirits. We know you are out there - Now we are well fed and ready to take care of you. Thank you, FTFB!"
  - Emergency room doctor from Boston Medical Center
"So proud to see smiles on the doctors' and nurses' faces... It also helped us with an increase in take out orders as more people are aware that we are open and cooking!"
- Miguel Contessi of Ellana's Kitchen
"We love FeedtheFightboston.  They are everywhere and anywhere, supporting local restaurants and all our health care workers at our frontlines."
- MD at Charles River Associates
"So thankful you chose us! I have been paying my guys out of pocket since we closed a month ago. I have an amazing crew who have been with me for years - highly unusual in this business! I consider them family and wanted to make sure there needs are covered as best I can provide."

It's about saving local restaurants and jobs, all while feeding heroes.

May 3, 2020

The Globe got the headline right: it's about putting restaurants to work, preserving businesses, and saving jobs by providing meals to the healthcare frontlines.

Feed the Fight Boston does it all, whether it's snacks for hard-working doctors and nurses at our hospitals, meals for orderlies at clinics, or sandwiches that nursing home workers take home to their families before working a second job. We're on the ground, paying attention to where today's needs are and where tomorrow's will be.

Please support Feed the Fight Boston as we listen and respond to our community and its needs.

FTFB tackles the hidden frontlines on its one-month birthday

April 27, 2020

From its inception a month ago, Feed the Fight Boston defined itself as a community-based organization, seeking out and serving the community's needs.  We focused on restaurants because of the economic stress covid-19 has placed on them and their economically vulnerable workers. We're still centered on them as one part of our dual mission and, so far, have raised funds to pay for just over 3900 meals. We should all support them as best we can because they are part of the covid-19 frontline and part of an economy that we need working.

The second part of our mission is supporting the heathcare frontline. And its needs are changing. We started with healthcare workers at the major hospitals and the hard-working heroes there who endure long hours and take on unreasonable amounts of personal risk to care for us. Now we find that the needs in the healthcare frontline are often hidden, and they shift, too. Smaller hospitals are in the thick of it now, as are clinics and nursing home. Many of their workers have challenges we don't see so readily; not only do they take significant personal risk and face understaffing, they suffer from poor wages and often the stresses of working multiple jobs.

FTFB is adapting to their needs through openness to the kinds of facilities in our community we support and, by working with each one, understanding and adapting to the needs of their workers. We're still about food. But perhaps the need isn't meals at work; maybe workers need to take it home to their families today, and something else tomorrow. The situation is fluid.

Happy Birthday FTFB

April 27, 2020

They didn't know they were celebrating Feed the Fight Boston's one-month birthday. But they were enjoying a break with ice cream; so we're claiming this as the party for FTFB's one-month birthday. We're glat that we, our donors, Cabots, and this crew could all be part of it.

Boston Globe headlines FTFB's dual mission

April 22, 2020

Big thanks to The Boston Globe, and journalist Gwyneth Burns, for headlining both sides of Feed the Fight Boston's dual  mission!

We crowdsource funding so we can place orders with local restaurants, supporting them and their vulnerable workers economically, and delivering food to healthcare workers fighting coronavirus.

Two different front lines, both important to our communities, and both highly stressed.

5,000 meals and Counting

April 18, 2020

FeedtheFightBoston has crossed the 5,000 meal mark, adding new restaurants from Boston to Grafton, Taunton to Billerica, and new healthcare providers from East Boston and Cambridge and to Lowel and Taunton.

We're also helping out at some nursing homes, now... because we see hard-working healthcare professionals everywhere who need our support and local restairamts near them that need business.

Help us help them all!

thanks from the medical community, thanks to you!

April 6, 2020

This is what it's supposed to look like: Hard-working healthcare workers feeling appreciated and well-fed, revenue for the restaurants we love and the workers we care about, and the knowledge that all of us, through contributions small and large, made a difference.

Thanks to all of you participating and supporting us in this effort!
